About Pendleton Wool

Pendleton Woolen Mills has been weaving beautiful wool fabrics in the Pacific Northwest for more than a century. The deepest roots and most impressive branches of Pendleton Woolen Mills remain steadfast well into its sixth generation. All of Pendleton’s trade blankets, plaid, and solid fabrics are still woven in their own mills in Oregon and Washington.

The town of Pendleton, a major railhead serving the Columbia Plateau, was a wool shipping center for sheep growers of the region. The mill, originally built in 1893, began as a wool scouring plant, which washed the raw wool before shipping. Today the mill stands on the same foundation as it did in 1909, but has added a retail operation along with investments in state-of-the-art technology.

Hardwood Urn Co. incorporates the beautiful pure wool Pendleton® wool fabrics as a liner for the Keepsake Shelf.
